Conference 2026
To close this wonderful 60th anniversary year, IARC will offer you the opportunity to register for a major scientific conference that will take place over three days, from 19 to 21 May 2026. This conference will bring together experts from around the world and will be held in the Biodistrict between IARC and the Halle Tony Garnier from 19 to 21 May 2026.
Feel free to register starting in september to see our Cancer Research into Action.
The 3 Key Themes of Our 2026 Conference
Discovery and innovation for cancer prevention
Every breakthrough starts with a question. This theme dives into the science that fuels discovery, uncovering why cancers develop and how they can be prevented. It celebrates curiosity-driven research and the power of innovation, from genetics to environmental health, that expands our understanding of cancer causation. It also highlights how open science, data sharing, and global collaboration are redefining what is possible in cancer research.
Translating research into Public Health action
Science only changes lives when it reaches the people it is meant to serve. This theme is about delivery: moving discoveries into practice to reduce risk, detect cancer earlier, and strengthen public health capacity. It focuses on bridging the gap from evidence to measurable improvements for people in diverse settings.
Science-policy interface for global change
Progress happens when evidence drives action. This theme focuses on the intersection where science guides decisions, inspires collaboration, and advances equitable cancer control. It highlights how researchers, governments, and communities can work together to turn knowledge into solutions that last.
On the last day, there will be an evening for the general public, open to everyone.
